It is essential to get an accurate measurement to ensure the best fit for your wedding dress or bridesmaid dress! Below is a helpful guide on measuring yourself for a wedding dress or bridesmaids dress.

Measuring Yourself for Bridesmaid or Wedding Dress

To begin, you will want to measure wearing the undergarments you plan to wear with your gown. Doing this will ensure the most accurate measurement. Once you feel comfortable, the measuring tape shouldn’t be pulled too tight or have too much slack and should always be parallel to the floor. Don’t let the tape droop or fall lower in the back.

Next, Stand comfortably with equal weight on both of your feet. With your arms resting easily at your sides and your stomach muscles relaxed and stand in front of a mirror.

  • Bust – Standing straight, measure under your arms around the widest part of your back and the fullest part of the bust. Keep the tape measure parallel to the floor.
  • Waist – Measure your natural waistline. Stand up straight, bend at the waist to one side. The crease that forms is where your natural waist is located; take your measurement there.
  • Hips – Stand with legs together. Measure around the widest and fullest part of the hips. The fullest part of the hips could be as high as your lower tummy area, or as low as the upper thigh area.

Helpful tips to keep health in mind as you search for your dream dress!

We have complied information for you from the CDC & OSHA so you can get the most out of your bridal shopping experience!

Be mindful of your health and the health of others:

Be mindful of symptoms of illness and don’t hesitate to reschedule your bridal appointment if necessary. Definitely reschedule if you have any of the following symptoms:

-running a fever over 100 degrees F

-coughing, sneezing or feeling achy

-diarrhea or other gastrointestinal symptoms

-not feeling well overall

Don’t be shy! Ask your entourage and make sure they are not sick either

You bridal appointment will be approximately 90 minutes long in a closely confined area. So don’t be shy about making sure those who you are accompanying you are also feeling well and not symptomatic. Remember, you can always FaceTime anyone who cannot make it to your appointment. At this time, to respect the recommendation of social distancing, The Crystal Bride has instituted a limit of 2 guests maximum for each bride.

If your sales associate is exhibiting any symptoms of illness, (i.e. Coughing, or sneezing) kindly bring this to the attention of management during your appointment.

Additional Notes:

Your bridal consultant is required to wash her hands before and after your appointment. We are encouraging our customers to do the same.

Guests are limited to 2 per bride and there are not exceptions at this time.

Your bridal consultant will not be permitted to share the dressing room with you per CDC guidelines.
